reporter: sure, martin. this is a witness. this isn t anything new. the side, the zimmerman camp has been saying there is a witness that would corroborate his story. pretty much from the beginning. i know nbc news would love to talk to this guy. we have be interviewed him as, we have not interviewed him as of yet. he said he saw trayvon martin on the top of this scrum that took place before the shooting. of course, there are other witnesses. one who appeared on another network who said that they saw the bigger man, the hispanic man on top and get up quickly. soes 33 contradictory witnesses that can really only be sorted out by the state attorney. right. so not quite as clear cut as they would have us believe. they all talk about how awful the court of public opinion is. and then they allow george zimmerman s father to take the stand and testify with what is essentially hearsay. i mean, you can call it testimony, i guess. but about trayvon s poundings zim zimmerman s head into the s ....
And george, have not spoken in years and the comments by the brother robert are totally irrelevant. that s according to the defense attorney or the attorney for george zimmerman. let me bring in david here. how do you put this together? people coming out of the woodwork on both sides and this guy for zimmerman. we don t know the source of the information and assume that he talked to the father or did he talk to the brother? well, it appears that the father and the brother have a similar story, and what is interesting about the story is that it is sort of like painting a life and death situation for george zimmerman, that this was something where he had to act, to do something. what was also interesting about both of their statements was the fact that they say that trayvon martin was reaching for the gun. this is new information that we obviously didn t hear last week. i think it s just creating this story that, look, he had to act. when you look at the police tape, that video that ....
Not release any evidence like that. we don t know if they exist or not. we would presume they do. if the investigation was conducted in a professional manner, that s something that is usually there. i ve been listening to talk radio here, to people in the community all day since these tapes hit the airwaves. people who think that george zimmerman are guilty are convinced these tapes close the case. and people who think he s innocent think that this is more of a rush to judgment on this and they re saying as the attorney did, this is grainy video and you can t make up your mind about it. the fascinating thing about this case from the start, the emotions really amped up when the 911 call are released. that seems to be happening again to some extent because people have a look. they can see what happened. and the case that the zimmerman camp has been making has been so, so insistent that he was beaten, that he was bloody. but a casual observer, most people at these tapes just don t think t ....
