FAIRMONT After engaging in a national search in seeking a Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, Fairmont State University is proud to welcome West Virginia native, Dr. Dianna Phillips to the Falcon Family. Phillips will begin her tenure at Fairmont State on Monday, April 26.
“We are beyond proud to welcome Dr. Phillips back to her roots in West Virginia and into our Falcon Family,” said Mirta M. Martin, Fairmont State University President. “As a first-generation college graduate, Dianna truly understands the value of a quality college education, and the profound impact Fairmont State has on the lives of our students. Bill & Mala Harker Endowed Scholarship Established at Fairmont State University
Clarksburg native and president and co-founder of a private investment firm and his wife, an attorney, have developed a scholarship to support students from Harrison and Marion counties.
Bill and Mala Harker have established the Bill & Mala Harker Endowed Scholarship, which will provide scholarships to a Fairmont State University student with first preference to African American students and second preference to students of color from Harrison County and Marion County with at least a 2.5 grade point average.
“Having grown up in the Clarksburg area, I am keenly aware of how much Fairmont State and its graduates have given to the community,” Bill Harker said. “We have a number of friends who are Fairmont State alumni. We see this scholarship as an opportunity to give back to an institution that has indirectly enriched our lives.” ....

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The 2020 financial audit of Fairmont State University by independent auditing firm, Suttle and Stalnaker, shows a strong financial performance for the third straight year. Since 2018, the University has seen a $12 million turnaround in its net positive position.
“Many contributors have enabled us to end the fiscal year with an increase in net position of $5.2M, including changes implemented to improve efficiency and continuing to be conscience of costs,” said Christa Kwiatkowski, Fairmont State University Chief Financial Officer. “To have three years of positive net position changes is quite a feat in the current higher education environment.” ....
