Trinidad-born, stand-up comic Arthur Joseph appearing on an episode of Wheel of Fortune on February 26. -
TRINIDAD-BORN stand-up comic Arthur Joseph will be one of three contestants spinning the wheel on an episode of the massively-popular US game show, Wheel of Fortune, which airs on February 26.
Joseph will be solving puzzles for a chance to win once-in-a-lifetime vacations and cash prizes as part of “Island Hopping” week.
Joseph, 50, (though he gave Newsday the disclaimer that he does not look it) is a man of many creative hats. As a stand-up comic he performs at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, as an actor he has appeared in shows like Good Girls, The Kominsky Method, Burn Notice and Memphis Beat, and he studied elements of Caribbean Dance Styles at the University of the West Indies. He was also a personal vacation planner at Carnival Cruise Line for 12 years before taking a sabbatical to go to California and do ....

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Live Standup Comedy on the Hill returns Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the 8:00 pm. live via Zoom or YouTube Live. February’s lineup includes Amanda Cohen, Tony Dijamco, Tommy Savitt and Auggie Smith. Professional local comedian Jason Love hosts and produces this monthly show in collaboration with the Hillcrest Center for the Arts.
Amanda Cohen is a middle-age single woman who claims to be a “fearless feminist with a sharp sense of irony”. After a career hosting comedy shows in the 90s, she took a break from standup to attend the Second City Conservatory and study improvisation and sketch writing. She returned to standup in 2015 and moved from Chicago to Los Angeles where she is now a regular at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank, as a performer and Zoom producer. ....

“I like a mix of veteran and new entertainers,” Johnson explains. “We’ve had comedians, singers, actors and community activists on the show. We like interesting people with great stories.”

A Good Green Room, Johnson and Ferguson did some virtual performances throughout 2020 and are looking forward to what 2021 will bring.
“I miss performing live on stage. I’m not a big fan of the standup Zoom shows,” Johnson says. “I’ve been doing live shows around the state and at the Comedy Works South club. I’m taping a Dry Bar comedy special at the end of March 2021.” ....

Now living in Hackensack, New Jersey, his day job was working for an essential retail business that had stayed open through the pandemic. Until it filed for bankruptcy.
I got laid off yesterday, he said over the phone last week. It s a fun and exciting time all around.
