For the simple reason that even career politicians are not civil and public servants in the traditional sense of the term. They are hired temporarily on contractual basis; and whatever privileges and perks that come with their job description must end with the terms of reference of their tenures in office. He may very well have forgotten who prophetically predicted that by the end of the first term of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the so-called Atta-Mills Institute (AMI) would have politically and ideologically crossed over into bona fide membership of the neoliberal market-oriented and social-interventionist New Patriotic Party (NPP). Personally, I suspect it was the late former General-Secretary of the NPP, Mr. Kwadwo Owusu-Afriyie (aka “Sir John”) who made this strikingly prophetic prediction.
