The Atlantic Endeavor crew transfer vessel (CTV), owned and operated by Atlantic Wind Transfers, America’s first CTV operator, has recently been delivered by UK vessel designer Chartwell Marine to support Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) pilot wind farm.

Chartwell Marine, headquartered in the United Kingdom, oversaw the vessel’s construction despite travel restrictions from the coronavirus pandemic. The company used data-driven analytics to foster an open and collaborative process with Atlantic Wind Transfers and US commercial boat builder Blount Boats & Shipyard in Rhode Island.
With several gigawatts of offshore wind capacity to be installed the next few years, the US offshore wind sector must rapidly build its maritime supply chain to ensure new projects can be constructed, operated and maintained effectively. Atlantic Wind Transfers Launches Jones Act CTV Atlantic

U.S. offshore wind crew transfer company Atlantic Wind Transfers (AWT) said its second Jones Act crew transfer vessel (CTV) Atlantic Endeavor was launched at the end of December.
Designed by U.K. firm Chartwell Marine and built by Blount Boats in Warren, R.I., the new aluminum catamaran spent three days undergoing sea trials and U.S. Coast Guard inspections prior to deliver to Dominion Energy to support its two-turbine Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Farm (CVOW) pilot project 27-miles off Virginia Beach.
The 64.9-foot wind farm support vessel will be based out of Virginia’s Hampton Roads region under AWT s long-term O&M CTV contract with Dominion Energy for CVOW project support. Manned by a crew of two or three, Atlantic Endeavor has capacity to transport up to 24 wind farm technicians. ....

President-elect Joe Biden on Friday tapped Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo to head the Department of Commerce, an agency that will take a leading role in his administration’s priority issues around the economy, environment and climate.
Raimondo, 49, was born and raised in Rhode Island and is the state’s first female governor. With a business background in the financial industry, she is seen as firmly in the centrist wing of the Democratic party, despite Republican critics’ contention that the state has been less business-friendly under her administration. ....
