Man who runs Ontario long-term care home without a single case of COVID-19 being called a hero

TORONTO
The 64 residents and their families at Mariann Home in Richmond Hill, Ont. are calling the man who runs it a hero.
“Like I say he is a guardian angel, Bernard. He has brought this home to another level,” Mario Ros told CTV News Toronto today. His 90-year-old mother is a resident at the home.
The home hasn’t had a single case of COVID-19 since the pandemic hit.
CEO Bernard Boreland was ahead of the curve and credits his SARS experience and training in helping to protect the residents and staff from COVID-19.
“That really helped me prepare for this because I reverted back to my SARS training and one of the keys was the single employer rule,” Boreland told CTV News Toronto. ....

The Government of Canada oversees rigorous environmental assessments to ensure good projects that support economic growth and environmental protection get built.
After a thorough review based on the best available science and evidence, and extensive public engagement, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, announced today the Government of Canada s decision to approve the Milton Logistics Hub Project, subject to 325 conditions.
The Milton Logistics Hub (the Project), proposed by the Canadian National Railway Company (the Proponent), is expected to reduce overall regional emissions for certain pollutants, including greenhouse gas emissions, by transitioning from trucks to lower-emitting train shipment. The Project will also contribute to a resilient economic recovery from COVID-19 by strengthening Canada s supply chains ....

Ontarians understand the personal costs namely, higher electricity bills of increased electricity prices caused largely by their provincial government’s Green Energy Act, which mandated and subsidized renewable energy (wind, solar, etc.) in the province’s power grid. But the effect on Ontario’s competitiveness, particularly the manufacturing sector, has been largely ignored even though the costs have been and continue to be substantial.
Simply put, higher electricity prices in Ontario hurt manufacturing since electricity is the second-largest cost after labour. Indeed, Sergio Marchionne, the late former head of Chrysler, said in 2015 that electricity costs in Ontario were making it too expensive to do business. ....
