The self-identified organizer of another protest against Covid-19 restrictions in Kelowna was given a $2300 ticket on Saturday for violating Public Heath Orders. Once again police did not officially release a name, although he has been fined before. RCMP say Public Health Orders are not optional and they will continue to enforce the provisions available to them.
Westshore Estates residents are being told of a large fuel management project beginning this month. The Forest Service says it’s to reduce the wildfire threats near the community. The work will involve hand and mechanical thinning, manual pruning, and surface fuel removal including pile and burn to prevent the start and spread of fires. ....

Current public health orders and restrictions have been extended for another month until February 5 because of high transmission rates through social gatherings. Restrictions mean everyone must only socialize with people who live in their households or core bubble, if you live alone. Avoiding any non-essential travel is still in place. Also, they remain in place for amateur sports, high risk fitness classes, retail and vending markets, and all other areas that are covered by the public health orders.
Another jump for covid-19 cases in BC was reported by Dr. Bonnie Henry yesterday. In total there were 761 positive tests, which included 96 in Interior Health, which was two more than in Vancouver Coastal Health. There are 822 active cases in I-H. There were 8 deaths in the past 24 hours, including 1 in Interior Health bringing the provincial total to 970 since the pandemic began. ....
