Ex-boss of El Paso history, art museums arrested in prostitution case

Tsurikov was the director of the El Paso Museum of History and the interim director of the El Paso Museum of Art.
After his arrest was announced, the city of El Paso issued a statement saying: The City does not publicly comment on personnel issues. Mr. von Tsurikov is no longer an employee of the City of El Paso.
He was put in charge of the El Paso Museum of History in August 2018. He was named interim director of the El Paso Museum of Art in August 2019.
He still was listed as the director of both museums on their websites on Thursday afternoon. ....

Aside from the fact that they re both Russian-born artists, Geli Korzhev and Ekaterina Khromin have little in common.
Khromin, a graduate of the USSR Academy of Arts who worked as a children s book illustrator, came to the United States in 1990, while Korzhev, a master painter trained in Moscow during the Stalinist era, remained in the former Soviet Union until his death in 2012.
Although the artists never met, came of age in different eras and followed different paths, their respective exhibitions at the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis offer complementary reflections on the past and present. ....
