The Stanislaus County Sheriff s Department is investigating a deadly stabbing that happened in Hughson on Saturday night. The stabbing happened around 6 p.m. on Saturday in the 2000 block of Charles Street, according to a press release. Hughson Police Services officers were the first law enforcement agency that arrived. When police arrived, they found an injured man who needed medical attention. People nearby were also trying to help the man, according to the press release. Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital, but he died in the ambulance.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department Detectives Investigate Hughson Homicide Published: Sunday, 07 February 2021 09:33 February 7, 2021 - Hughson - Investigators with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department are currently investigating a fatal stabbing which took place in Hughson Saturday evening. Patrol officers with the Hughson Police Services were first to respond to a residence for an assault and battery in the 2000 block of Charles St at 6:09 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th. Upon their initial arrival, Hughson Police Services located a male victim in need of emergency medical aid. Bystanders were nearby trying to provide care and assistance as well. Paramedics quickly responded and transported the victim to the hospital, but he unfortunately succumbed to those injuries while in the ambulance.

Second Arrest Made In Oakdale Homicide Nikkole Scruggs At approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23 detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Persons (CAP) unit arrested Nikkole Scruggs, 30, at her Oakdale home and booked her as an accessory in the September murder of Katrina Allen, 39, of Oakdale. On Nov. 4, 2020, detectives arrested Stephen Frederick, 28, of Oakdale and charged him with the shooting death of Allen. During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Scruggs had knowingly concealed evidence and based on her actions, allowed Frederick to evade arrest by providing transport on multiple occasions and allowing him to stay at her home.
