Tractor Supply Co. coming to former Shopko stores in Kewaunee, Oconto

KEWAUNEE - Those forlorn, large and empty Shopko Hometown buildings sitting vacant for nearly two years in Kewaunee and Oconto will be filled by a national home improvement and rural lifestyle retailer.
Tractor Supply Co. plans to open stores in the former Shopkos this summer in Kewaunee and this fall in Oconto, a spokesperson for the company confirmed in an email. The idea for the new stores was brought to officials in Kewaunee early this year and in Oconto about six weeks ago, but plans were formalized in Kewaunee a couple of weeks ago and in Oconto last week, those officials said. ....

Rusk County rails part of CN track purchase

A major freight rail carrier and a logistics company have reached an agreement for the sale of key rail lines, including 650 miles of track in Wisconsin and upper Michigan
CN will sell to Watco its non-core lines and assets on the Soo subdivision. This includes about 250 miles of track that runs from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to Oba, Ontario and about 650 miles of branch lines of Wisconsin Central Ltd. in Wisconsin and Michigan. This marks the successful conclusion of the sale process that CN announced and launched in July of 2020.
Not all lines the company uses here would be sold, according a map of the affected assets provided by CN. The map shows the sale includes rarely used Rusk County tracks from Tony west to Goodman in Marinette County. CN will retain its track between Ladysmith and Tony. ....

I ve been a Packers fan for the last 10 years and I hope you can help me with a man who was good to me in my teen years. Billy Joe Winchester, when I met him, I think he told me that he played for the Packers and Raiders. I thought it was cool that he didn t act like a superstar, though I figured he must have been just a decent player. He and his wife fostered a few kids and had one biological daughter. I went to school with all of them. He helped me complete my community service when I got into a little trouble. I admired the work he did in his community. I found out that he passed away in 2011. This is where I am stuck. People are telling me that he never played NFL football. Can you tell me anything about Billy Joe Winchester and his time with the team? PITTSBURG, Kan. Watco announced the signing of an agreement Wednesday with Canadian National Railway subsidiaries Wisconsin Central Ltd. and Algoma Central Railway Inc. to purchase some of the companies’ rail assets.
“Watco’s relationship continues to grow and flourish with Canadian National as we work together to provide the best value-added services to rail shippers in North America,” Watco Chief Executive Officer Dan Smith said in a press release. “This announcement is an extremely important and exciting next step in this relationship, and we look forward to serving these crucial customers and expanding our footprint in the Upper Midwest and Canada.” ....
