When Amy Bokker arrived at Ohio State in June 2019, her goal was clear: Get the Buckeyes in the mix. Prove they could compete in the Big Ten. This season has been an opportunity for Ohio State to do just that with its schedule of conference-only games. The Buckeyes took another step last weekend, taking down then-No. 10 Penn State not once, but twice a 15-12 win on March 26, then an 11-9 comeback victory on March 28. The two wins over the Nittany Lions broke a stretch of six straight losses. Ohio State made program history with its Feb. 21 win over Michigan, its first over its rival since 2016, but hadn’t added to its win column since. ....

The Buckeyes were held scoreless until the second half of their eventual 23-7 loss, and even though they were facing one of the best opponents in the country, they knew they were better than what transpired on the field in Evanston. They spent the next week of practice even though it was still only the second week of the season in reset mode. They went back to the drawing board, drilling through 50-50 competition scenarios and making the necessary adjustments to avoid a repeat performance in its next game. Another top-10 opponent was next up on the slate: That Team Up North, No. 9 Michigan. ....
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team will begin its 2021 season with a Big Ten Conference game at No. 5 Northwestern Sunday. The Buckeyes and Wildcats will face off at 1 p.m. ET in Evanston, Illinois, with the game streamed through BTN Plus and live stats available. Buckeye Notes to Know Ohio State was 5-4 last season and had not yet started Big Ten play when the remainder of the campaign was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
