Motorists urged to take care ahead of wet weather in South. DRIVERS are being urged to take care this weekend ahead of possible heavy rainfall. Highways England has put the warning out to motorists driving on motorways or major A roads following a yellow warning for rain issued by the Met Office. Rain, wind and thunderstorms are expected across the South throughout the weekend and now drivers are asked to be aware and drive to the conditions. In wet weather Highways England is advising drivers to slow down if the rain and spray from vehicles is making it difficult to see and be seen, keep well back from the vehicle in front and ease off the accelerator and slow down gradually if the steering becomes unresponsive.
