Man Claimed to be Wu-Tang and Receive Eight Years in Prison

The man is named Walker Washington and he pleads guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and will serve over 100 months in prison. Washington will also have to pay $300,000 to 19 businesses that were impacted by his scheme. After his release, he will have to serve three years of supervised release.
A co-defendant, Aaron Barnes-Burpo of Florida, received seven years after pleading guilty to the same charge and also must pay $300,000 in restitution to the businesses.

Two Wu-Tang Clan imposters, Walker Washington and Aaron Barnes-Burpo have just been sentenced to prison for conducting fraudulent activities that mostly involved the use of stolen credit cards.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Walker Washington, aged 53 from Augusta, Georgia, will be serving 100 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud supervised for three years after his release. He will also be paying roughly $300,000 USD to the 19 businesses he scammed. Barnes-Burpo, 29, from Crestview, Florida, who plead guilty to the same charges has been sentenced to seven years and will also be paying $300,000 USD in damages. ....

Walker Washington was sentenced to eight years in prison by a federal judge this past Thursday. The 100-month sentence also includes Washington being ordered to pay $299,900 in restitution.
News of this comes almost two years later, after Washington and another man named Aaron Barnes-Burpo used stolen credit card information to book hotels and rent cars while claiming they had ties to Roc Nation and Wu-Tang Clan.
U.S. Attorney David Estes issued a statement on the matter, saying, “These two flim-flam artists and their phony entourage lived large for several weeks by scamming hospitality providers. WRDW is reporting that Walker Washington has just been sentenced to eight years in prison for defrauding 19 businesses out of hospitality services by claiming to be a member of the iconic Hip-Hop group, Wu-Tang Clan. Over the weekend U.S. District Court Judge Dudley H. Bowen ordered the 53-year-old Augustan to serve 100 months in the bing after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and instructed him to pay $300K to the businesses he swindled during his crime spree.

According to court documents, Walker Washington, 53, of Augusta, Georgia, was sentenced on Thursday, April 29, to 100 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Washington was also ordered to pay almost $299,900 in restitution to the companies he scammed.
Washington’s partner in crime, Aaron Barnes-Burpo, 29, of Crestview, Florida, had already been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to the same charges and having to pay almost 300,000 in restitution. The scheme went on for two months in 2019.
