Feb. 4 Another Whatcom County resident who tested positive for COVID-19 has died and the number of confirmed cases in the county climbed by 105, the Washington State Department of Health s dashboard reported on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
Overall, Whatcom County has seen 5,735 confirmed cases and 66 related deaths during the pandemic, according to state data as of 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, meaning 1.1% of all COVID cases in Whatcom County have been linked to a death.
Forty-four additional probable cases an increase of 10 from Tuesday s report have been reported in Whatcom County during the pandemic, resulting from positive antigen tests not confirmed by a molecular test. ....

As most students continue to complete school work remotely, the Edmonds School District has repurposed an unoccupied school building to provide a space for students who do not have a place to study.
Edmonds Hub (also known as eHub) offers students who qualify for McKinney-Vento and foster care a place to study and complete class work. Located in the former Alderwood Middle School building in Lynnwood, the site also provides students access to meals, stable technology including Wi-Fi, tutoring, educational support materials and laundry services. ....

Jan. 26 Whatcom County saw 45 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported over two days by the Washington State Department of Health s dashboard on Monday, Jan. 25, but no new deaths were reported..
Overall, Whatcom County has seen 5,231 confirmed cases and 59 related deaths during the pandemic, according to state data as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, meaning 1.1% of all COVID cases in Whatcom County have been linked to a death.
Fifteen additional probable cases a decrease of two from Saturday s report have been reported in Whatcom County during the pandemic, resulting from positive antigen tests not confirmed by a molecular test. ....

Jan. 14 A day after its case count took a step back, Whatcom County s number of confirmed COVID-19 diagnoses surged forward with 109 new positive tests reported on the Washington State Department of Health dashboard Wednesday, Jan. 13. Though the state reported no new related deaths Wednesday, the Lummi Nation said that its community saw its first death that could be linked to coronavirus.
Overall, Whatcom County has seen 4,452 confirmed cases and 56 related deaths during the pandemic, according to state data as of 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12. That means that 1.3% of the Whatcom residents who have tested positive for COVID during the pandemic have died. ....
