Top Glove Corp Bhd has claimed trial against charges of failure to provide Labour Department (JTK)-certified accommodations, and the matter has been set for another mention on April 28. The glove maker said it was present at the Ipoh Sessions Court yesterday for the first case mention in relation to an inspection by JTK in November last year under the Workers Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities Act 1990. ....

IPOH, March 9: A former administrative officer of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) was charged in the Ipoh Sessions Court here today with two counts of soliciting and receiving bribe last year. However, Selamat Mulyono Juni, 37, pleaded not guilty after the charges against him were read before Judge S. Indra Nehru. According to the first charge, the accused, as an administrative officer working at the MPOB regional office in Butterworth, Penang, was alleged to have solicited RM6,000 bribe from Shafrullah Abu Kasim to eliminate photographic evidence that Shafrullah’s company, Khaffa Vision Enterprise, had conducted the sale of oil palm fruit after its fruit dealer licence had expired. ....

IPOH: A former civil servant has claimed trial at a Sessions Court here for soliciting and receiving a bribe amounting to RM1,500. Selamat Mulyono Juni, 37, a former administration officer at the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in Penang, pleaded not guilty to the charges before judge S. Indra Nehru. According to the first charge in the charge sheet, Selamat had asked one Shafrullah Abu Kasim for RM6,000 to dispose of a photograph, which was evidence in connection with a company selling palm oil, which licence from MPOB had expired. ....
IPOH A 52-year-old contractor has been fined RM10,000 in default of nine months jail for falsifying documents. Syed Basri Syed Lin pleaded guilty before Session Court judge S. Indra Nehru at the Ipoh Sessions Court here Tuesday (Feb 23). Syed Basri, who was unrepresented, committed the offence at Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah in Slim on Nov 6,2018. According to the charge sheet, he fraudulently used a genuine document for completion of work on water supply maintenance, panel overhauls and water supply system project at the polytechnic s pump house involving a value of RM5,200. He was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code. ....
