Fani-Kayode hails Southern Govs over stance on restructuring, open grazing

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has lauded the Southern Governors for banning open grazing in the regions and opting for the restructuring of the Federal system.
DAILY POST had reported that the governors under the aegis of Southern Nigeria Governors Forum, SNGF met in Delta State on Tuesday to resolve the lingering security crisis in the region.
During the meeting which was attended by Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and others, the SNGF discoursed ways of ending insecurity in the region. ....

Ibadan Muslims defy Sultan's directive, observe Eid-el-Fitri prayer on Wednesday


The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan, the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Adetunji and Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Abdulganiy Abubakr Agbotomokekere were among prominent personalities who observed the Eld-Fitri prayer in the town on Wednesday.
Our correspondent gathered that the Eid-el-Fitri prayer which was held at Ibadan Eid prayer ground was observed despite a directive issued by the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakr.
Our correspondent recalls that the Sultan who doubles as the Amir Musulumi in Nigeria and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) had earlier directed that the Eid-el-Fitri prayer be held on Thursday because the crescent of the new month was not sighted on Tuesday. ....

Dr. Fadi Yousef Kablawi, imam at the Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah in north Miami, struck a blow for interfaith harmony recently when he preached a sermon in which declared: “If you truly love Jesus, this [Islam] is the religion for you.” Kablawi’s sermon was an excellent illustration of why Muslim persecution of Christians continues unabated in Nigeria and elsewhere.
After declaring that Palestine is “the land of Islam – and we will take it back,” Kablawi began a lengthy expatiation on Islamic martyrdom. “Every true Muslim,” Kablawi asserted, “should talk to himself about dying as a martyr for the sake of Allah. The Prophet said whoever does not do that is a hypocrite. Can you imagine? There is nothing higher than to die for what you believe.” ....

Imam Alioune Badara Ndao fera encore face au juge.
Trois ans après ce retentissant procès pour terrorisme, le dossier s’est retrouvé à la Cour d’appel suite à la décision du parquet de s’opposer à la décision du premier juge.
Selon L’Observateur, Imam Ndao avait été condamné à un mois de prison ferme pour détention illégale d’armes.
Plusieurs autres condamnés, dont Mactar Diokhané, ont également interjeté appel.
Le dossier est actuellement au parquet général de la Cour d’appel de Dakar. ....
