CENTURION: Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq has said he was disappointed at not scoring a century and staying at the wicket till the team crossed the finish line in the first ODI against South Africa on Friday.
Talking to reporters, he said: âIâm very disappointed. Iâve been waiting one and a half years since my last hundred. I havenât had that many opportunities in the last year. You donât always get what you want, but Iâve got two more games to make up for it.â

He was the sole recipient of the Nigeria National Merit Award, NNMA, in 2018. Chairman of the Governing Board of the NNMA, Prof Shekarau Yakubu, noted late October 2018, that out of three dozen nominations for the award, his own was the only entry which met all the criteria enunciated as prerequisites for the award.
The NNMA is traditionally conferred on scholars, academics, professionals and practitioners who have distinguished themselves locally and internationally in a select spectrum of disciplines, notably the humanities, arts, culture, engineering, technology, science and medicine.
The honour, which is the Nigerian equivalent of the Nobel Prize, has over the years been awarded to standard-bearers such as Professors Wole Soyinka; Chinua Achebe; John Pepper-Clark Bekederemo; Adeoye Lambo; Femi Osofisan; Niyi Osundare and Tanure Ojaide. A Christchurch Islamic leader who survived the March 15 mosque shootings has today released a personal message on the second anniversary of the attacks.
Imam Gamal Fouda was giving his Friday prayer on the afternoon of March 15, 2019, when a terrorist stormed the Masjid Al Noor on Deans Ave and opened fire.
He survived but 42 of his congregation were murdered before the gunman travelled across town to the Linwood Mosque and shot dead another nine people. ....
