Top Wizz Air shareholder to sell up to 400 million pounds worth of stock

(Reuters) - Wizz Air’s largest shareholder, Indigo Partners LLC, is planning to sell up to 400 million pounds ($555.56 million) worth of shares in the Hungarian low-cost airline, Barclays Bank said on Monday.
Private Equity firm Indigo Partners owns 15 million shares, or a 17.5% stake, in Wizz Air as of Monday, said the bank, which is acting as the global coordinator on the deal.
Based on the last closing price of Wizz Air shares, Indigo Partners’ stake in the airline amounts to about 825 million pounds. ....

CEO of Poland's Polska Press quits after takeover by state-run refiner

WARSAW, March 2 (Reuters) - The chief executive of Polish regional newspaper publisher Polska Press has quit following its purchase by state-run oil refiner PKN Orlen, a takeover the opposition sees as part of efforts by the ruling party to assert control over the media.
Polska Press said in a statement released on Tuesday that CEO Dorota Stanek had submitted her resignation after PKN Orlen completed its takeover of the group from Germany’s Verlagsgruppe Passau.
PKN Orlen describes the deal as just a business transaction, but opposition political parties have portrayed it as part of a wider project by the nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party to tighten control of the media in the European Union member state. ....

Spanish unions to get access to app algorithms to monitor workers' rights

MADRID, March 11 (Reuters) - Spanish unions will be given access to the algorithms companies such as Uber use to manage their workforce in the gig economy, to monitor conditions and stop workers being underpaid in low-demand hours, Labour Minister Yolanda Diaz said on Thursday.
Such labour rights monitoring is part of Spain’s forthcoming legislation to bolster protections for service sector workers, typically hired on freelance basis, that will require employers to put them on staff contracts.
The bill still has needs a green light from the cabinet, after which companies will have 90 days to implement it.
“It will make it possible to avoid, as is currently the case, algorithmic punishments for workers who work in certain time slots, penalties for performance that can be biased, or even the simple fact of promoting or going on strike,” Diaz told reporters. ....
