White House promotes abortion funding, 'reproductive healthcare' at international gathering on women – Catholic World Report

The White House on Wednesday promoted its push for taxpayer-funded abortion as it made commitments on “gender equity” to an international gathering.
In a fact-sheet announcing commitments of the United States to advancing gender equity around the globe, the White House noted the removal of the Hyde Amendment from President Joe Biden’s first budget.
Biden, in May, submitted his budget request to Congress without the policy. The Hyde Amendment, federal policy since 1976, prohibits federal funding of most elective abortions. If the subsequent government funding bills are signed into law without the policy attached, taxpayers would subsidize elective abortions in Medicaid. ....

MIAMI GARDENS – On April 27, Florida Memorial University (FMU) hosted a book signing event with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (FRRC), in partnership with the Miami Dolphins and Lennar Foundation.
Students from FMU’s  Certificate Program in Construction Trades program had the opportunity to hear from FRRC President and Executive Director Desmond Meade and were provided a copy of his book “Let My People Vote: My Battle to Restore the Civil Rights of Returning Citizens.’’
The memoir recounts Meade’s personal journey and activism to restore voting rights to returning citizens who have served their terms following Florida’s passage of Amendment 4 in 2018. Copies of the book given to students were purchased by the Dolphins from African American owned Pyramid Books in ....
