South Korea plans to pursue a formal complaint in response to a Chinese Olympian who was heard repeatedly swearing during a badminton match between the two nations.
Chen Qingchen, 24, could be heard shouting a popular Chinese slang term, translated loosely as f k ​ in Mandarin, throughout the live televised broadcast of her women s doubles match against South Korea on Tuesday, July 27.
Chen was heard first yelling the phrase after she and her partner, Jia Yifan, lost the first set to their South Korean opponents. ....

A foul-mouthed Chinese badminton player has caused widespread anger in South Korea after she repeatedly swore during a badminton match between the two countries at the Tokyo Olympics.
Chen Qingchen was heard uttering a popular Chinese slang term – loosely translated as “f..k” – in Mandarin during a women’s doubles match against the South Korean pair of Kim Soyeong and Kong Heeyong, CNN reports.
Chen first yelled the offending phrase after she and partner Jia Yifan dropped the first set. The Chinese duo then repeated the term for the remainder of the match, which they won 2-1. It could be heard throughout the live television broadcast in South Korea, prompting complaints. ....
