Why did you start this company?
The original co-founder, Andrew Ninh started the company because he experienced a collapsed lung which caused him to miss his high school graduation. During this time, he saw that healthcare desperately needed IT systems that are safer for patients, physicians and nurses. Gauging disease risk by studying the gut microbiome's genetic features

Recent research suggests that microorganisms living in the human gut may play a role in diseases ranging from obesity to cancer. A team at Harvard Medical School has gone one step further, linking the microbiome’s genetic features to multiple diseases.
By using a variety of statistical models and machine learning, the Harvard scientists identified what they call “microbiome architectures” behind human diseases. They linked several sets of genetic features of the microbiome to many conditions, including coronary artery disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver cirrhosis, Type 2 diabetes and others, according to a new study published in Nature Communications. ....

To use funding to expand, boost content and technology for end users
Edtech start-up ClassMonitor has raised ₹3.5 crore as part of its pre-Series A round from construction firm Path India Ltd, UAE-based Calega family office investor group and Sarvann, a group of Oman-based investors.
The start-up will use the fresh funds to build its presence across other nations and strengthen its content and technology for the end users.
To date, the company has raised ₹6 crore since its inception in 2016. As part of its angel round, ClassMonitor was backed by Piyush Jain, Chief Financial Officer of Al Hajri group, an angel investor who has invested in over 25 start-ups across the globe. ....

2021 sees more data breach cases, financial frauds from online platforms in India: study

A steep 90-100 per cent rise has been witnessed in Account Take Over (ATO) posts in India this year, pointing at serious data security breach and online financial fraud. Most of the crimes occur on major brands in EdTech, OTT platforms, e-commerce and e-retail applications, for which, many users share common or long-term passwords.
ATO refers to the online identity theft where a cybercriminal accesses a bank, e-commerce or OTT account of the victim, siphons off funds, steal credit or debit information or loyalty points, sometimes to commit another cybercrime. ....
