En effet, avec une petite calculette, on peut facilement calculer la surmortalité 2020, en Europe. Mais ce n’est pas le sujet abordé ici.
Par ailleurs, il ne faudra pas oublier de la comparer à la surmortalité que l’on observe tous les ans en hiver.
Enfin, attribuer cette surmortalité au seul virus me semble abusif. Comme je l’écris : il y a 7 pays qui n’ont enregistré aucune surmortalité, alors qu’ils ont enregistrés des cas et des décès. Il y a en particulier le Luxembourg, coincé en la France et la Belgique. Si ces pays ont évité les décès, c’est qu’en France, en Belgique et ailleurs, on n’a pas fait ce qu’il fallait pour les éviter. Un manque de moyens ? Une politique inappropriée ? Une prise en charge inadaptée ? Le « Restez chez vous » ? ....

People world-wide are dying at the fastest pace in years because of the coronavirus. In response, deaths are now getting counted faster than ever, potentially giving public-health experts and policy makers a clearer picture to make decisions.
Weeks after the virus hit Italy last year, doctors, funeral homes and officials realized that government Covid-19 death tolls were too low and many victims weren’t getting included. Informal tallies quickly revealed that thousands of deaths most likely caused by the virus had been omitted. Limited testing left the number of infections unknown, and many people had died outside hospitals, which were the initial source of fatality figures. ....

The 2020 flu season continues with no lab confirmed influenza cases or outbreaks notified, from the start of the flu season up until last Sunday, December 20,
Irish Medical Times reports.
Sentinel GP influenza-like illness consultations for the 2020/2021 season have been above the Irish baseline threshold (18.1/100,000 population) for five consecutive weeks but, to date, were reflecting SARS-CoV-2 activity, rather than influenza, according to the latest Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) influenza surveillance report.
No confirmed influenza hospitalised or critical care cases had been notified to HPSC and there had been no reports of deaths up until December 20. ....
