International curling comes home to its birth nation when the World Curling Federation stages the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship 2021 in Curl Aberdeen, Scotland, next week.
Due to take place between 17–23 May, this championship sees teams representing 20 international Member Associations, and is the fourth event to be staged by the World Curling Federation in a 2020–2021 season truncated by pandemic challenges.
Previously, the BKT Tires & OK Tire World Men’s Curling Championship 2021 and the LGT World Women’s Curling Championship 2021 both took place in a COVID-secure “bubble” in Calgary, Canada, while the World Wheelchair-B Championship 2020 was staged at the Kisakallio Sports Institute in Lohja, Finland. ....

Lillehammer to host 2021 European Curling Championships

The World Curling Federation (WCF) has announced Lillehammer as the host of the 2021 European Curling Championships, following the cancellation of the 2020 edition which had been set to take place in the Norwegian city.
Assuming the event goes ahead, it would mark the fourth time that Norway has hosted the European Championships, with previous editions taking place in Oslo in 1977, Lillehammer in 1990 and Stavanger in 2013.
The next edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 27.
Curling events featured when Lillehammer hosted the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games, while the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship and World Senior Curling Championships were held in Norway last year, in Stavanger. ....
