History's 'American Pickers' is coming to North Carolina in search of antiques

In the words of Paul Revere, “The American Pickers are coming! The American Pickers are coming!”
And, well, that’s exactly the warning shouted by the horse-riding harbinger at the outset of the American Revolution. But it is true the long-running History channel series “American Pickers” is coming to North Carolina for the first time in five years and its titular antique hunters are looking for collections to pick.
The series, hosted by Antique Archaeology owner Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, will be in the state in mid-March and its producer, Cineflix, has put out a call for potential collections to feature. ....

Oak Island Lighthouse in North Carolina is the first in the US to get a rotating led beacon – a few others have been retrofitted with static led lamps.
UPDATE: The Friends of Oak Island Lighthouse have sent a spec for the light (see below)
“This upgrade is the Coast Guard’s first led-based rotating beacon for an active aid to navigation and will provide a permanent, cost-effective and energy-efficient solution for the lighthouse,” according to the US Coast Guard which maintains the light. “Necessary renovations of the lighthouse to prepare for the new beacon began in October.” ....
