Prominent Asian-American celebrities like Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, and Olivia Munn, meanwhile, used their platforms to bring awareness to the incidents, with Dae Kim and Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu going so far as to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attacker in Oakland (police now have a suspect in custody).
