Amotekun operative shoots Police Constable on official duty in Oyo

A member of the Oyo State Security Network also known as Amotekun Corps has shot a police officer in Oyo town.
DAILY POST gathered that the police officer, Mr. Fatai Yekini was shot by an Amotekun Corps member identified as Ibrahim Ogundele at the Sanga area of Oyo town on Saturday.
Ogundele is a male officer working with the Amotekun Corps at Isale-Oyo area while Mr. Yekini is a Special Police Constabulary attached to Ojongbodu police station
A source told DAILY POST on Sunday that Yekini was shot on his left leg at a very close range, around 3:00pm on the 2nd January 2021. ....

An operative of the Oyo State Security Network, known as Amotekun Corps, identified as Ibrahim Ogundele has been apprehended for allegedly shooting a police special constable in Oyo town area of the state, Nigerian Tribune authoritatively gathered.
A credible source hinted our correspondent that the bullet fired by the Amotekun operative hit the special constable, identified as Fatai Yekini on his left thigh, but he was promptly rushed to the General Hospital at Owode area of Oyo town for medical attention.
The alleged shooting was said to have occurred while the Police and Amotekun operatives attempted to dislodge some youths who organised a street carnival at Sanga are of Oyo town on Saturday. ....

Amotekun arrests highway robbery suspect in Ogbomoso

Authorities of the Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun Corps have apprehended one of the suspected highway armed robbers who have been terrorising Ijawaya village along Ogbomoso-Oyo Road.
The Commandant of Amotekun Corps in the state, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd), made this disclosure in a statement he issued on Sunday.
He observed hat Ijawaya village had become unsafe, most especially to travellers as a result of the heinous activities of the suspected robbers, saying nemesis caught up with the suspect when the Amotekun Corps staged a joint patrol on Friday against those terrorising the area.
According to Olayanju, security operatives apprehended one suspected robber, who in turn led security operatives to the robbers’ hideout. ....
