An active-duty Marine Corps officer stationed at the Quantico base in Virginia was arrested on Thursday in the commonwealth and charged with five federal crimes in connection with the Jan. 6 siege of the U.S. Capitol, including allegedly assaulting a police officer, the Department of Justice announced Thursday afternoon.
According to the charging documents, Major
Christopher Warnagiris, 40, of Woodbridge, was initially captured on security camera footage “violently” entering the Capitol Building through the East Rotunda doors by pushing through a line of Capitol Police officers. Once inside the building, video and photographs show him returning to the doors and trying to thwart the officers’ efforts to prevent more rioters from getting through by physically pushing and pulling them away from their positions, prosecutors say. ....

In pursuance of established national objectives, the Pakistan Navy always actively participates in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) operations under the ambit of Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW). On 21 March 2021, reports of OSV MEHR (a Tanzanian flag ocean tugboat) being dead in water in the Red Sea with six Pakistani crew members onboard was shared on social and electronic media. Upon confirmation of the reports and directions from the relevant ministries, PN Ship ZULFIQUAR, which was deployed in North Arabian Sea for a regional maritime security patrol, was tasked by the Naval Headquarters to expeditiously head towards the Red Sea to provide technical, medical and humanitarian assistance to the crew of OSV MEHR. In addition, efforts were made by the Pakistan Navy to provide assistance to the stranded ship through friendly navies in the Red Sea region ....
