NATCHITOCHES, La. (KSLA) - The City of Natchitoches announced Tuesday, March 16 that while it cannot make adjustments on customers’ bills due to water leaks during the severe winter weather in February, they can set up payment plans for customers.
The city says per the attorney general’s office, government agencies are not allowed to make adjustments on utility bills regarding water leaks.
During the severe winter storms, many customers experienced burst pipes, leading to water leaks. Those who experienced these issues will likely see higher than normal bills. The city released the following statement about the issue: ....

The following information was provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA):
If you were affected by the winter storm from Feb. 11 to 19 and you live in Avoyelles, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, Franklin, Grant, LaSalle, Madison, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Webster, West Carroll, and Winn parishes, you may be eligible for FEMA help.
Assistance provided by FEMA for homeowners and renters can include grants for rent and repairs to make their primary home habitable. It can also help other serious disaster-related needs like replacing essential household items, medical and dental expenses and funeral and burial c ....

BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - More than 9,000 cases of bottled water have been donated to Bossier Parish schools as the school system prepares to reopen its campuses Tuesday, Feb. 23.
At the request of the school district, the Bossier Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (BOHSEP) helped find a large amount of bottled water to students and staff will have safe drinking water until boil advisories are lifted. ....

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Bossier City Mayor Lo Walker and Bossier City Council President David Montgomery held a news conference Monday afternoon to address the city’s response to water crisis caused by the week of severe winter weather in the ArkLaTex.
The news conference was held Monday, Feb. 22 at 2:45 p.m.

Mayor Walker started by thanking all of the city’s workers who have worked tirelessly to restore water pressure throughout the city. Walker says since Monday, Feb. 15, the city has been working to restore water pressure, which dropped about 30 PSI due to residents running their faucets to prevent freezing and numerous water breaks. ....
