The set, titled The Head Up Project , was recorded during a live 2001 performance in Deftones hometown of Sacramento, California. The Head Up Project is being released by Buckle Up Chi, a seat belt advocacy group formed in honor of the musician following his death. Cheng was involved in a serious car accident in 2008 which left him in a semi-comatose state. He died in 2013. Visit BuckleUpforChi.com for more info. Robert Smith & more – review Ohms this year, and now they re celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic White Pony with a reissue and a White Pony remix album called Black Stallion. The remixes were handled by an impressive cast of musicians, from one of Deftones biggest influences ( The Cure s Robert Smith) to one of their popular alt-metal peers ( Linkin Park s Mike Shinoda) to veteran electronic musicians ( Squarepusher, DJ Shadow) to a handful of great newer artists ( Purity Ring, Phantogram, Blanck Mass, Clams Casino, Tourist, etc).
