No, the Covid-19 vaccines do not cause infertility

One concern about the Covid-19 vaccines is that it can cause women to become infertile.
This video, presented by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) medical graduate Dr Ilia Jauharis, addresses that concern.
It is part of the campaign against Covid-19 vaccine misinformation organised by Docere, a group of young doctors and professionals who aim to empower the public with health information.
StarHealth is partnering with Docere to show some of the videos they have produced for this campaign.
A new video will be uploaded every day at our webpage from March 8 to 14 (2021).

Ten years ago, I thought I was the only childless woman in the world. I was 46, divorced and single – and knew absolutely no-one else in the same situation.
I knew a couple of childfree women who had consciously chosen not to be mothers and who were delighted to have got the life they wanted. I knew women and couples who’d had fertility problems, done IVF and now had children, and one couple who’d adopted. But I didn’t know even one woman among my friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues or even in the public eye who had had her hear ....

Tokyo [Japan], March 14 (ANI): An online study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders Reports found that pregnant women had higher levels of anxiety compared to fertility patients during the Covid pandemic.
The pandemic has changed the social environments of pregnant women and fertility patients, says Tohoku University clinical psychologist Koubon Wakashima.
For example, restrictions in Japan meant that pregnant women have been unable to participate in group parenting classes or travel to their parents homes to receive traditional childbirth assistance. Medical institutions in the country reported fewer women accessing infertility treatments. ....

Endometriosis and fertility – 6 things all women should know

Endometriosis can affect infertility and figures show that between 2 - 10% of women have the condition.  However, it is estimated that 60 – 70% of women with endometriosis are fertile and can conceive without any fertility treatment. Endometriosis may be underdiagnosed and women who may have the condition are often categorised as ‘sub-fertile’, meaning that they have reduced fertility potential.
