SIERRA VISTA — Jacqueline Vivian Geisler gave back the gift of her life on March 8, 2021 and wasborn on October 10, 1940 to Marian and Einar Mattson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She spent the majority of her childhood in the Twin Cities area where both of her parents worked.
Jackie attended elementary, junior and senior High School in Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School in 1958. After graduating from High School, Jackie took a position at Honeywell and was employed there from 1958 to 1960. In 1960 Jackie enrolled in college at Mankato State and graduated with an initial degree in Professional Education in 1964. Jackie began her teaching career at Fridley where she taught second grade. It was during this time that Jackie met her future husband Gene Geisler. ....

RACINE — When Julia Witherspoon was still working as a Racine Police officer in the 1990s, she remembers searching a kitchen for a firearm that was suspected to have been used in a shooting. She searched through cereal boxes and cupboards for a gun, finding nothing, as the woman whose family lived in the home — a mother — looked on silently, arms crossed.
On top of the fridge, Witherspoon (nee: Burney) noticed a stack of library books. When she started looking through them, the mother spoke up for the first time, yelling “I’m not paying for nothing!”
When police were looking through her home as part of a murder investigation, the woman had been silent. When overdue library books were noticed, she stepped in, fearing a fine she could not afford. ....

Schools in England reopened on 8 March with new regular testing and mask-wearing in classrooms. Both have been recommended by the government for secondary schools, but are not compulsory, raising concerns among some teachers and students.
Two teachers and a pupil have spoken about their first week back at school.
‘It would be better if we had blended learning’

As pupils return to primary school after weeks of online learning, they bring with them “a different kind of stress” said Louise Neve, 51, a teacher in Hampshire. This week she has been frustrated by the safety guidance for junior schools as social distancing is largely unrealistic for younger classes. Her “bubble” of 28 pupils, aged eight and nine, are provided with hand gel and the classroom windows are opened an inch or two. ....

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Teachers have had the tough task of engaging students either in-person or over a screen throughout the COVID pandemic.
One of those teachers was a math teacher, who wore a tuxedo and treated remote learning like a formal affair. He works to capture the attention of his students any way he can.
