MACON, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia high school senior struck by lightning while on vacation in Florida with his family has died.
Walker Bethune, 17, died Wednesday. His family said he did so peacefully, listening to one of his favorite Allman Brothers songs, “Soulshine.”
Bethune was hit by lightning July 17 while walking on a beach with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His father was with him when it happened and administered CPR until emergency medical technicians arrived, WMAZ-TV reported. The teen was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.

MACON, Ga. — Stratford Academy student Walker Bethune died Wednesday night in the hospital after being struck by lightning, according to Bethune's CaringBridge Page.
Earlier this month, Bethune was struck by lightning while he was on vacation with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His dad was there when it happened and administered CPR until EMS arrived.
He was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.
"Walker has finished his race here on Earth. The Lord has received our angel," wrote Julie Chandler on behalf of Bethune's family.

Students with the L&N STEM Academy Key Club gave out 150 winter scarves all around Knoxville on Wednesday.

The wind is howling, temperatures are falling and people across Knoxville are starting to bundle up as cold weather descends on the city.
Students at the L&N STEM Academy wanted to make sure everyone had the chance to stay warm. To reach the entire Knoxville community, they went around the city and tied scarves around fences, benches and trees for anyone who needed them.
