MACON, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia high school senior struck by lightning while on vacation in Florida with his family has died.
Walker Bethune, 17, died Wednesday. His family said he did so peacefully, listening to one of his favorite Allman Brothers songs, “Soulshine.”
Bethune was hit by lightning July 17 while walking on a beach with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His father was with him when it happened and administered CPR until emergency medical technicians arrived, WMAZ-TV reported. The teen was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.

MACON, Ga. — Stratford Academy student Walker Bethune died Wednesday night in the hospital after being struck by lightning, according to Bethune's CaringBridge Page.
Earlier this month, Bethune was struck by lightning while he was on vacation with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His dad was there when it happened and administered CPR until EMS arrived.
He was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.
"Walker has finished his race here on Earth. The Lord has received our angel," wrote Julie Chandler on behalf of Bethune's family.

Stratford Academy’s Key Club is planning a CPR class and blood drive in honor of senior Walker Bethune, who was struck by lightning while on vacation in Florida.
An email from the school says it will happen on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at the school’s Jett Science Center.
The first aid and CPR course will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Stefanis Lecture Hall, while the blood drive will run from 1-6 p.m. at the Atrium and Dorogy Resource Room.

A data breach resulting from vulnerabilities in file transfer service provider Accellion’s software has affected multiple healthcare entities. The latest victim is Livonia, Michigan-based Trinity Health, which recently announced the security incident that has affected over half a million of its patients.
Reports of security incidents related to Accellion’s legacy file transfer appliance started appearing in February. Several healthcare entities that used the software said they had been affected, including Trillium Community Health Plan, University of Miami Health and Centene, which sued Accellion after information for 1.3 million patients of its subsidiaries was exposed as a result of the breach.
