MACON, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia high school senior struck by lightning while on vacation in Florida with his family has died.
Walker Bethune, 17, died Wednesday. His family said he did so peacefully, listening to one of his favorite Allman Brothers songs, “Soulshine.”
Bethune was hit by lightning July 17 while walking on a beach with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His father was with him when it happened and administered CPR until emergency medical technicians arrived, WMAZ-TV reported. The teen was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.

MACON, Ga. — The Stratford Academy community and many across Central Georgia are mourning the death of rising senior Walker Bethune.
He was struck by lightning nearly two weeks ago on a Florida beach, and died Wednesday night at a hospital in Miami.
According to a post on his CaringBridge page, the 17-year-old died peacefully while listening to one of his favorite Allman Brothers songs, "Soulshine."

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - A 17-year-old has passed away from his injuries after he was struck by lightning this month in Florida.
According to FOX 5, Walker Bethune was vacationing with his family in Marco Island. He was walking just three feet away from his family when he was struck on July 17. He was rushed to a Miami hospital where he passed away 11 days later.
Stratford community - Tonight we received the heartbreaking news that Walker Bethune passed away from his injuries sustained during his tragic accident. You have fervently prayed for Walker and his family over the last 11 days and we ask that you do not stop. Walker was loved by all within our school family and we lift up his family and friends during this unbearably difficult time.

A Georgia teenager has died after he was struck by lightning while vacationing on a Southwest Florida beach earlier in July.
July 17, 17-year-old Walker Bethune was struck by lighting on Marco Island. His school, Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia, confirmed Wednesday night Walker died from his injuries. Walker was in the hospital at the time of his death.

MACON, Ga. — Stratford Academy student Walker Bethune died Wednesday night in the hospital after being struck by lightning, according to Bethune's CaringBridge Page.
Earlier this month, Bethune was struck by lightning while he was on vacation with his family in Marco Island, Florida. His dad was there when it happened and administered CPR until EMS arrived.
He was flown to the Ryder Trauma Center at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, University of Miami Health.
"Walker has finished his race here on Earth. The Lord has received our angel," wrote Julie Chandler on behalf of Bethune's family.
