The university issued a Thursday, May 13 news release that said members of the Class of 2020 that would like to participate in an in-person ceremony will be welcomed back to campus to attend in-person graduation ceremonies Friday, May 14. The Class of 2020 will be recognized in a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. and a ceremony at 11 a.m., both taking place in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. ....
On May 14, Texas Tech announced via Twitter that Saturday s commencement ceremony will be hosted at the United Supermarkets Arena instead of the Jones AT&T Stadium due to incoming severe weather threats. According the Tech Commencement s website, graduates should enter the arena through the north ramp 45 minutes before their college s ceremony starts. On May 15th, NDSU will hold it s first in-person graduation ceremony since the pandemic began at the Fargodome. At 10 a.m, students in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Engineering; College of Human Sciences and Education; and College of Interdisciplinary Studies will all be honored. While then at 2 p.m, students in the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources; College of Business; College of Health Professions; and College of Science and Mathematics will be honored. During the 10 a.m. commencement, Zeina Abouelazm, who grew up in Cairo, Egypt, will be the special speaker. She is receiving a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in emergency management and management communication.
