Richland County School District One on Wednesday announced the district's Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year. COLUMBIA, S.C. Students wearing a mask in public schools is a decision left up to parents. Governor McMaster made the announcement in his new executive order Tuesday.
State Superintendent Molly Spearman reluctantly followed suit Wednesday, announcing that the Department of Education is lifting mask requirements in schools.

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WIS) - Lexington School District One has announced that students will still be required to wear face masks on school campuses.
Superintendent Dr. Greg Little released a statement to parents and guardians regarding the Governorâs Executive Order saying:
âThis evening, Governor McMaster issued an executive order, Executive Order 2021-23, which allows parents to sign a form to opt their students out of wearing a mask at school. The Order still requires face coverings for students and staff on school buses (Presidentâs Executive Order No. 13998). ....
