TOKYO, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) China claimed two golds and four silvers as the badminton competitions at the Tokyo Olympics concluded on Monday night.
Eight teams harvested a total of 15 medals at Tokyo 2020. The medal table was still dominated by Asian teams, while China stood at the top by snatching two golds in the mixed doubles and women s singles.
China was the also only team to progress to the finals in all five disciplines.
In the mixed doubles, China s Wang Yilyu and Huang Dongping and two-time world champions Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong bagged one gold and one silver respectively. Women s singles shuttler Chen Yufei triumphed over Chinese Taipei s world No.1 Tai Tzu-ying to claim another gold. ....

TOKYO, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) Indonesia s world No. 6 shuttlers Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu beat China s second seeds Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan 21-19, 21-15 in the women s doubles final of Tokyo 2020 here on Monday.
The Indonesian pair raced to a strong start and kept the advantage till the end. In the second set, Chen and Jia, unable to bounce back, appeared overwhelmed by their opponents.
Jia conceded after the loss that she was still a bit nervous because it was their first time playing in such a huge international sporting event. ....
