The idea behind it was to collaborate to drum up business in the middle of the pandemic lockdown.
Two friends, Maisha Webb and Nicole Best, both Harrisburg-based business owners, came together last year to collaborate on a 3-minute promotional video to highlight their businesses.
Webb, owner of Mean Girl Style Boutique in Steelton, and Best, owner of iRoxy Beauty, an emporium of Black artisan designers, jewelry makers and artists, based at the Fashion Empire boutique, quickly expanded the scope of the idea beyond their respective businesses.

The COVID-19 pandemic might have slowed down business openings and construction but it certainly hasn’t stopped them.
A number of housing developments are planned in Harrisburg, Susquehanna Township, Hampden Township, East Pennsboro Township and throughout the midstate.
And stores including REI Co-op, PaulB Mechanicsburg, Five Below and TJ Maxx are all opening new locations in central Pennsylvania this year.
And three companies have plans to open multiple locations in the region: Shiny Shell CarWash, Xfinity and Pet Supplies Plus.
Other new locations include a childcare center, a hospital, newly built medical offices, a doggie daycare, restaurants, hotels, an indoor trampoline park and more.

Anyone who lives in or near Lower Swatara Township knew Franklin Linn.
If they didn’t know him personally, they at least knew his name. There’s an interchange off of Route 283 bearing his moniker.
And even if they don’t recognize him from his road, there’s a good chance that they met him without even knowing it. As children, they might shyly have approached his white-bearded alter-ego and to told Linn what they wanted for Christmas.
Linn was a long-time public servant, a well-known member of the community, a lifetime member of the fire department and a former police officer. And every December he was Santa Claus.
