First Sergeant Kristopher L. Privitar
First Sergeant Privitar was born in McAllen and was raised in Universal City, Texas. He enlisted in Marine Corps in August 2002, and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego in November 2002. PFC Privitar was then assigned to Infantry Training Battalion, to receive his basic rifleman training and advanced training as an Anti-Tank Assaultman (0351).  PFC Privitar graduated School of Infantry West, Infantry Training Battalion, in March 2003, and was given orders to 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
PFC Privitar then met with 2/4 during a deployment to Okinawa, Japan and was assigned to Weapons Company, Anti-Armor Section as a Javelin Gunner.  Shortly after returning the unit received orders to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) II.  The unit deployed to Iraq, in February 2004, and was the primary unit involved in the “Battle of Rhamadi”.  While on deployment Lance C ....

CAMP PENDLETON, CALIF. After 20 years of counterinsurgency and low-end conflict in the Middle East, the Marines are rapidly retooling for a different kind of fight.

Royal Marines extend training by a month in bid to prevent injuries due to lack of fitness
