Last year, we had the inaugural King of the Bagger race. It was an intense and insane event at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where two Indian Challenger motorcycles competed against 11 Harley-Davidson baggers. As history recorded it, the two Indians trashed the Harleys and things are heating up even more, with three Indian teams in the game this year.

Back in 2020, the Indian belonging to Mission Foods S&S and ridden by Tyler O’Hara managed to win the race, becoming the first champion of what is this year a three-round series. Naturally, the team and rider are coming back in 2021 to defend their crown. ....

At the end of last year’s King of the Baggers race at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, one thing was clear: a pack of 11 Harley-Davidson motorcycles was no match for two Indian Challengers, which made short work of the Milwaukee machines.

The race ended with Indian riders Tyler O’Hara and Frankie Garcia clinching the first and third places on the podium. Sandwiched between them was Hayden Gillim, riding a Harley-Davidson in the Vance & Hines Racing Team colors.
That’s right, the same Vance & Hines team that earlier this year lost factory backing for its efforts in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle series on account of the bike maker’s reorganization plan. Last year, the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca was host to a race between baggers for the first time. The event was part of the first-of-its-kind Drag Specialties King of the Baggers event, and this year it s all coming back with a vengeance.

The 2020 event was a major hit, as it was watched online in massive numbers, with millions tuning in for the show.

To be able to take on the task back then, the Indians were specially prepped by a team comprising people from S&S, but also Roland Sands himself.
