READERS of the News & Star hit out at inconsiderate parking which has prevented emergency services from accessing parts of the Lake District and halted Stagecoach services on certain routes. Stagecoach has suspended the 77 and 77A services around Catbells due to ‘inconsiderate parking and heavy congestion’ as the tourist season began in earnest in the Lake District. The company said that the route was blocked by cars making passing impossible. Dan Harding said: The council should tow these vehicles and charge £500 to get them back. Leona Borthwick said: I was up catbells at 8am this morning, got the last parking space just by the bottom! When we left around 9.30/10am it was so busy people parked on the yellow lines and the grass verges.

Get to know the 10 start-ups set to spend three months getting guidance from the Belfast accelerator. The Ignite NI accelerator for growing technology companies has announced its latest cohort. Supported by Invest NI, Ignite NI selects start-ups that can demonstrate traction and significant potential for future growth. Ignite NI alumni have gone on to raise £15m in pre-seed and seed stage funding. Cloudsmith, for example, went on to raise £2.1m in seed funding shortly after completing the three-month programme.
