Virgin is DOWN for thousands of customers across Britain


Virgin Media broadband is back online after crashing for around an hour earlier today, leaving thousands of people without internet access.  
The source of the outage remains unknown, but mass loss of connection was reported in major cities, including London, Birmingham and Manchester, between 8am and 9am. 
A Virgin Media spokesperson said: The issue which affected some customers broadband services this morning has now been fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

The council voted 8-1 to acquire the land for conservation and recreational purposes.

Brunswick Councilors on Tuesday voted 8-1 to spend up to $70,000 to buy a 144-acres at the former Brunswick Naval Air Station from the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority for conservation and outdoor activities.
Councilor Chris Watkinson cast the lone dissenting vote, stating that the council did not do their “due diligence to solicit feedback from various stakeholders.”
“For myself as a councilor and as a representative of a certain amount of people in town, I can’t put my vote behind the idea that we’ve done everything that we should be doing,” Watkinson said. ....

Letters: Focus on getting the country vaccinated – not going after travellers


SIR – The complaint that vaccination passports are “discriminatory” is puzzling.
They are supposed to discriminate between those who have been vaccinated and those who have not. 

I could not visit my daughter in the United States last summer because flights were cancelled. I hope I will not be barred from seeing her this year because some people refuse vaccination or have not yet been offered one.
It should not be equal misery for all.
