Give for Good raises record $2.3M for area nonprofits


SHREVEPORT, La. - The numbers are in and Give for Good was a huge success for the Community Foundation of North Louisiana and more than 240 area non-profits.
Give for Good raised $2,301,350. for area nonprofits this year, the largest amount ever raised during this event. That accounts for more than 10,000 donations. The annual event has now raised more than $14 million for the community.
“From the beginning of COVID-19, many area nonprofits never closed their doors and stepped up to serve the growing community needs,” says CFNLA CEO Kristi Gustavson. “North Louisiana has always been such a giving community and we are thrilled that donors rallied around the vital nonprofits that make our community a brighter place.” ....

Give for Good 2021 raises $2.4 million for north Louisiana nonprofits


It was another record-breaking year for the annual online fundraising campaign, Give for Good.
In 2014, the Community Foundation of North Louisiana launched the day of giving and extended an invitation for individuals to become philanthropists by donating gifts that would help transform their community.
This year, CFNLA reported a total of $2,301,350 raised for the 24 participating area nonprofit organizations at the close of Give for Good Day on May 4. The 10,113 gifts tallied were contributed by donors across the country.
For 2021, CFNLA extended the donation window to allow advance giving from April 20 to May 3.

Give For Good, created by Community Foundation of North Louisiana in 2014, raised $2,301,350 for area nonprofits, the largest amount ever raised during the event. Give for Good Day Aims for $2 Million in Donations
Kristi Gustavson, CEO of the Community Foundation of North Louisiana talks about the annual Give For Good Day and the area non-profits that it assists.
Give for Good began eight years ago as a single day event but, this year, started two weeks early to allow for advanced giving beginning on April 20.
Tuesday is the official Give for Good Day of Giving, during which an online tally of contributions is constantly updated so the public can see the total amount grow throughout the day.
Gustavson comments on hitting the million dollar mark early in the day. We hit $1.98 million last year and that was amazing during COVID, she says, So I m really hopeful we can hit $2 million this year. ....
