It s dusk in southern Texas and rush hour on the US border with Mexico is just beginning.
As the sun starts to sink into the horizon, the Rio Grande, a river that separates Mexico from America, turns into a migrant highway.

The current border crisis is coming to a tipping point after years of poor legislation which has created loopholes for migrants entering the U.S.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, before 2011 most illegal migrant apprehensions were of single adults from Mexico. However, last month less than 70 percent of migrants were single adults, and nearly 10 percent were unaccompanied minors. ....

Yuma Sector Border Patrol continues to deal with migrant influx

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Sector Border Patrol tells News 11 that the number of apprehensions it s experiencing is roughly double what agents saw during the last fiscal year.
The issue is taking center stage since the Biden administration rescinded the so-called Remain in Mexico policy.
“So far this fiscal year, we’ve apprehended a little over 8,600 illegal aliens , said agent Vincent Dulesky with Yuma Sector Border Patrol.
Last fiscal year, that number stood at 4,400. Border Patrol said the majority of apprehensions are taking place at vulnerable areas of the border wall, where often times migrants traveling on foot can simply walk across and surrender themselves to agents. ....

Texas Governor Vows State Action to Fill Gaps Left by Biden’s ‘Open Border Policies’

During his State of the State Address on Monday night, Texas Governor Greg Abbott pledged to “fortify” the state’s border security efforts. The statement follows actions by the new administration of President Joe Biden to end the construction of border wall systems and related policies.
“Because of the federal government’s open border policies,” Governor Abbott said while speaking from Visionary Fiber Technologies in Lockhart, Texas, “Texas must fortify its efforts to secure our border.”
Abbott’s comments follow actions taken by President Biden on this first day in office where he called a halt to the construction of border wall systems funded by congressional authorizations during the Trump administration, as reported by Breitbart Texas. Biden also ended the Migrant Protection Program which effectively ended the Obama-Biden era catch-and-release ....
