Bangladesh Mission in Italy honours top remittance senders
The Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome, Italy has honoured five expatriate Bangladeshis and a business organisation with “Remittance Award”.
The five individual awardees of 2020 are Kartik Chandra Ghosh, Syed Abdullah Al Mahmood, Md. Safi Ullah, Kamrul Hasan and Mehenas Tabbasum, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, Bangla SRL has won the Award in the ‘organization category’.
They received the award as the top remittance senders to Bangladesh from Italy between July 2019-June 2020.
Md. Shameem Ahsan, Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy, handed over the awards among the recipients.
The event was held on Thursday on the occasion of “International Migrants Day 2020”. ....

International Migrants Day on Friday, December 18, was an opportunity to acknowledge how immigrants bring culture and innovation to Central Queensland.
Amongst them are Bill and Rosmarie von Allmen and Richie Ziebicki, who now live at the Carinity Shalom aged care community in Rockhampton.
Rosmarie and her husband Wilhelm, better known as âBillâ, moved to Australia from Switzerland in the early-1950s â one year apart.
âDad was supposed to go to South America to drive a water tanker but it fell through, and because he had said âhoorooâ to everybody he decided he was going to go overseas anyway,â their daughter Ann Oram explained. ....
