Thomas and Allen, as well as a family of four that also live in the triplex, allege their landlord doesn’t actually live in their building. Instead, they argue, the landlord is merely pretending to live there in order to exploit the city’s housing laws.
“Our landlord doesn’t live here,” Thomas said. “He never lived here. He didn’t live here on the day he gave the eviction notice, but about a week after he delivered the eviction notice, he started coming here once or twice a week.”

शहर में अब किराये के मकानों में रह रहे किरायेदारों को भी कचरा शुल्क अदा करना होगा। प्रति किचन के हिसाब से नगर निगम पर्ची काटेगा। इसके बाद कर्मचारियों को पर्ची के बदले में सौ रुपये हर माह देना होगा। इस बारे में नगर निगम ने आदेश जारी कर दिए है, जिन्हें आगामी दिनों में पूरा कराया जाएगा।

Tenants desperate to find a rental are lowering their standards or grouping together to share accommodation with family and friends just to get a roof over their heads, experts say.
Some were also paying more
than $650 a week, leaving very little for necessities such as food, power and clothing and were avoiding paying bills on time to be able to afford to eat.
The news comes as the Bay of Plenty s median weekly rent has hit an all-time high of $550.
Tauranga s median weekly rent is even higher than the region s median at $565, while Rotorua s sits at $470. ....
