A Wichita Falls man accused of plotting to blow up an Amazon Web Services data center in Virginia was arrested Thursday.
Seth Aaron Pendley, 28, spent months planning how he would disguise his car for the trip to and from Virginia, where he would detonate explosives in an attempt to crash most of the nation’s internet, according to a federal criminal complaint made public Friday. ....

A Missouri man reportedly called Congressman Emanuel Cleaver’s (pictured) Independence, Missouri office, used a racial slur, and said, “How about a noose … around his neck?”
Prosecutors allege Kenneth R. Hubert, 63, of Marionville, Missouri made the threats. He was subsequently charged for threatening to assault and kill Cleaver, a U.S. House Democrat representing the Kansas City area. The Justice Department announced last week that Hubert called in on January 7 with the “intent to impede, intimidate and interfere.”
According to
the Kansas City Star, prosecutors alleged on Jan. 6, a voicemail from Hubert allegedly said, “You motherf s better stay in hiding. Steal the election, we got something for you.” ....

KANSAS CITY, Mo. A federal judge ruled Monday that there’s adequate reason to detain a southwest Missouri man accused of threatening to assault and kill Rep. Emanuel Cleaver.
“Mr. Hubert, words have meaning,” Chief Magistrate Judge David P. Rush told Kenneth R. Hubert during a detention hearing at the federal courthouse in Springfield. “And your words rise to the level of posing a danger.” ....
