Arizona is suing the Biden administration on claims that its immigration policy, which has allowed record numbers of migrants to enter the country, along with its decision to stop construction on the nation s border law, is having a devastating impact on the state s environment, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said Monday.
This is a lawsuit that the Sierra Club should love, Brnovich said on Fox News Fox and Friends. Federal rules ensure that vouchers are targeted to the families who need them most. The AMA has estimated that over the year up until 30 June 2021, there will have been 27,569 admissions of residents from nursing homes to hospitals that were potentially avoidable, costing $312 million and accounting for 159,693 hospital patient days.
The staggering figure is the first national estimate of potentially preventable admissions to hospitals from nursing homes alone. In total, new AMA modelling has identified $21.2 billion of savings that could be made over four years if immediate reforms were implemented to our aged care system.
The $21.2 billion comprises four-year savings from potentially avoidable admissions to private and public hospitals from nursing homes ($1.4 billion), from older people in the community ($18.2 billion), those transferred to emergency departments but not admitted ($497 million), re-presentations to emergency departments within 30 days ($138 millio ....

The Department of Defense announced today the award of a $24,387,200 grant from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation to the Geary County Unified School District 475 to replace the current school facility with a new Jefferson Elementary School on Fort Riley, Kansas.
Upon completion, the school will serve up to 390 students Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade and address capacity and facility condition deficiencies that placed Jefferson Elementary School as the 38th school on the 2011 Deputy Secretary of Defense “Public Schools on Military Installations Priority List” (Priority List). ....
