US Army identifies soldier killed in Kuwait vehicle accident | American Military NewsAmerican Military News


A U.S. Army soldier who died in a non-combat vehicle accident in Kuwait on Monday has now been identified.
Staff Sgt. Anthony Bermudez, 28, from Dallas, Texas, died in the vehicle accident during a routine troop movement near Camp Buehring, Kuwait, according to an Army statement provided to American Military News.
Bermudez was assigned to Area Support Group – Kuwait, along with two other soldiers who were injured in the accident.
One soldier was transported to Al Jahra Hospital in Kuwait, and later transported to U.S. Military Hospital-Kuwait where they remain in stable condition. The second injured soldier, who was driving the vehicle, was transported to U.S. Military Hospital-Kuwait with “non-serious injuries,” and released on Tuesday. ....

Remembering service members who died in combat zones in Africa, Kosovo, Arabian peninsula region in 2020

Twelve service members died on overseas deployments to designated combat zones in Africa, Kosovo and the Arabian peninsula region, including waterways, in 2020.
One other soldier was killed in a terrorist attack in Kenya, which is not a designated combat zone.
The most deadly of the incidents was a helicopter crash in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt in November, in which five American troops died and one was injured. The Americans were part of an international peacekeeping force that monitors compliance with the 1979 Israeli-Egyptian peace accord.

U.S. Air Force Captain Dr. KelliAnn Leli passed away on Friday, Nov. 27,  2020, in a tragic accident, while deployed to the Middle East at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates.
Kelli was born to the Seaman family on Jan. 7, 1990, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and grew up in Parlin, New Jersey.
After high school, Kelli was accepted to the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. The first in her immediate family to serve on active duty, Kelli graduated USAFA in 2012, earning her commission, as well as
a coveted slot to medical school. She graduated from Rutgers Medical School in 2016 and went on to complete her Family Medicine Residency at Travis AFB.  Upon completing her residency, Kelli was chosen to remain at Travis AFB as faculty, an easy choice, since Kelli had already been named the base’s 2018 Family Medicine ‘Resident of the Year’. ....

A 30-year-old physician and Air Force captain from New Jersey died in a crash on base, the U.S. Defense Department said Saturday.
Kelliann Leli, of Parlin (Middlesex County), died Friday in a non-combat related vehicle incident at Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, military officials said.
Leli was assigned to the 60th Healthcare Operations Squadron, Travis Air Force Base, California.
“Our entire Travis family is beyond heartbroken over the tragic loss of our teammate, Kelliann,” said Col. Corey Simmons, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. 
“We are thinking of and praying for all her loved ones during this unfathomable time.”  ....
