An all-star cast of big-wave elite showed up for the event (not to mention a few lesser-known XXL chargers like World Champ, Italo Ferreira). As mentioned more than a few times already, we’ve seen some amazing images and videos from the Pipeline Valentine swell along the North Shore. We reported on it in realtime right here. We have three days of cam highlights from Pipeline right here. We nominated a Photo of the Swell right here. This was not a giant, Waimea/Outer Reef swell (though there were a couple moments on Saturday), but Pipeline and Backdoor took center stage and had moments of sheer brilliance, as showcased in the photo gallery below. (Stay tuned for some outstanding O’Neill Wave of the Winter as well. Oh, and fair warning: basically everyone in the below photos is going straight. There are no turns.) ....

Pool and Spa Depot purchases industrial building formerly owned by Harman International

Pool and Spa Depot, one of the best-known pool and spa retailers in the Southeast, has recently purchased a 151,000 sq. ft. industrial building in Franklin, Kentucky.
This facility, formerly owned by Harman International, will become a major distribution and manufacturing facility, providing a significant amount of job openings for Franklin and the surrounding areas.
Pool and Spa Depot has already begun the warehousing and distribution of products and will be hiring 40 new staff members to work in those departments. Additionally, the company will began manufacturing luxury hot tubs during the second quarter of 2021, and will be hiring 80-100 more employees to work in the Manufacturing Department. ....

Big wave surfer and surf shop designer team up to revamp site of former Causeway Market

520 Causeway Drive has been vacant for years. The convenience store previously there was closed while the building was for sale, but a group of beach natives want to bring a market back to the site. (Port City Daily/Preston Lennon)
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH The building previously home to Wrightsville Beach’s Causeway Market might soon return to action, after its new owners secured unanimous approval from the town’s planning board for project plans at the property.
The site has long been unoccupied; the previous owner closed Causeway Market and listed the building for sale over a year ago.
A professional surfer and husband-and-wife entrepreneurial team behind other local businesses are working together to open a shop called “Bevvy Mart” at 520 Causeway Drive. The sale closed in October, and final project approval is dependent on a board of aldermen hearing in February. ....
